Laura Woods, the beloved presenter who recently bid farewell to TalkSPORT, has revealed that she has received “a couple of offers” but has not yet signed anything. Despite the speculation surrounding her future, Woods is taking a well-deserved break and is in no rush to make any decisions.
In an emotional final show, Woods was brought to tears by a heartfelt poem read by a fan. Her three-year stint at TalkSPORT was filled with success, earning her multiple awards, including Best Speech Breakfast Show at the ARIAS in 2021.
Rumors have been circulating that Woods may join the newly launched TNT Sports, formerly known as BT Sport, taking over from Jake Humphrey as the main anchor. However, no deal has been finalized yet.
“I’ve seen a lot of articles, but I haven’t signed anything,” Woods told the Sun. “There are a couple of offers, but I’ve got a glorious month off now where I can sit down and start planning the next things.”
Woods is excited to have the privilege of taking a step back and carefully considering her options. “I have always been 100 miles per hour in my career. I used to have this work ethic of taking absolutely everything because I knew that it would teach me something,” she said. “But now, I have earned the right to take a step back and think: ‘What is right for me next?'”
While her role at TNT is not yet confirmed, the broadcaster sees her as the perfect replacement for Humphrey, who has led their football coverage for a decade. In the meantime, Woods will be joining ITV to present their coverage of the upcoming Women’s World Cup.
