Gloria Estefan Shines at Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner
Gloria Estefan stole the show at the 38th Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner, dazzling in a stunning black gown adorned with sequins and beads. The event, which has been honoring sports legends and humanitarians since 1985, was attended by the 66-year-old singer and her longtime husband, Emilio Estefan.
As Gloria strutted down the red carpet in her open-toed black heels, she exuded glamour and elegance. Her shoulder-length brown locks were styled in loose waves, complementing her natural makeup look. Emilio joined her for photos, wrapping his arm lovingly around her waist.
The Cuban-American power couple mingled with Marc Buoniconti, President of The Miami Project and The Buoniconti Fund. Gloria, who has been working with The Buoniconti Fund for over three decades after a spinal cord injury, served as the emcee for the event.
Rapper Pitbull received the 2023 Buoniconti Fund Award, and Ne-Yo performed at the dinner. The event raised funds for groundbreaking research on spinal cord and brain injuries and neurological diseases conducted by researchers at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
In addition to Gloria and Emilio, other honorees included NFL Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan, Olympic Gold medalist Missy Franklin, and world hockey champion Zdeno Chara. The silent auction featured autographed sports memorabilia, travel experiences, electronics, jewelry, and more.
Reflecting on her own near-death experience in a bus crash in 1990, Gloria shared how it changed her perspective on life. She now focuses on short-term goals and taking control of each day. Her resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to others facing hurdles.
Gloria Estefan’s radiant presence at the Great Sports Legends Dinner was a reminder of her enduring talent and unwavering spirit.
